Dr. Bruno SOARES

Quantitative Analyst

Bruno is the Quantitative Environmental Scientist at the IECS and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Regina. Bruno earned a Ph.D. in Ecology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is a fish ecologist with experience in Neotropical freshwater and marine ecosystems. His main research interests include (i) understanding the effects of natural and anthropogenic environmental variation on fish communities and food webs and (ii) creating computational tools and methods for advancing biodiversity science. Bruno is also engaged in multiple efforts to advance JEDI and open science in academia.

IECS is situated on the territories of the nêhiyawak, Anihšināpēk, Dakota, Lakota, and Nakoda, and the homeland of the Métis/Michif Nation, is on Treaty 4 lands with a presence in Treaty 6. We respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands and waters upon which we work and operate. We also recognize and value continued contributions of the First Nations in caring and protecting these lands and water for thousands of generations.
