Water Quality services

Water quality

IECS currently houses two Agilent Technologies 1260 Infinity HPLC systems used for quantification of algal pigments in water and sediment samples. The systems can also be used to detect and quantify other biological compounds, such as algal toxins and fungal markers.

Instruments for diverse water chemistry analyses include

  • Lachat QuickChem 8500 Series 2 Flow Injection analyses system
  • Unity Scientific SmartChem 200 Discrete Analyzer
  • Shimadzu AA-7000 Atomic Adsorption Spectrophotometer
  • Shimadzu GC 2014 Greenhouse Gas analyser coupled to a Teledyne Tekmar HT3 head-space sampler
  • Shimadzu UV-VIS 1800 Spectrophotometer
  • Thermo Scientific Barnstead Nanopure Water Purification System
